Duke's property from 1795 - crown property. Kandava parish has existed since at least 1567 and then the first wooden church was built. The rectory has been known since 1582. Construction of a new residential building began in 1652, but it took a long time and the layout was changed several times. To a large extent, in 1710, the local Latvian and German congregations merged to form one rectory.

Karl Ferdinand Amenda (1771-1836), a dean of the Kandava district, lived in the pastoral manor.

The manor house was built in the 19th century. in the first half (probably during Amanda) in the style of classicism. The expressiveness of its façade is achieved by a staircase and an entrance. The building is raised with a four-column portico, an oval room next to the former hall.

As there was no pastor in Kandava parish in 1919, the rectory was transferred to the state and the land was divided into new farms, leaving only the residential building at the disposal of the pastor. The pastor lived in the manor back in 1944. In 1945 it was nationalized. The center of the manor has been handed over to the Kandava State Technical School. The pastoral manor has been rebuilt and apartments have been installed in it, farm buildings have been used for the needs of the farm. The manor land has been reclaimed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kandava.

The manor is currently in a relatively poor condition. Cleaning works around the manor have started.

At the pastoral manor of Kandava there is a great view of the ancient valley of Abava. Kandavnieki calls this area the "Old Oaks". At present, only scholars, participants and friends of the Lutheran church go to it. A beautiful staircase with terraces will be created so that the path from the Pastor's House is accessible to everyone and always with dry feet, so as not to break through the springs that swirl from the slope, and to preserve the natural oak forest. This activity in the nature park "Abava ancient valley" takes place within the project "Habitat protection measures in the nature trails of the Abava ancient valley". One of the activities is the construction of a thorough wooden staircase in Kandava rectory. Information: I.Dišlere, A.Ozola "Manor in rural culture" (2002).

Notes: There is a path near the manor with steep, long stairs.

Important: The manor can be seen from the outside only.
