ZANTE PARISH
The parish of Zante is the southern administrative territory of Kanava county. It is bordering with the parishes of Vāne, Zemīte, Viesati, Gaiķi and Remte. Total area of the parish is 96.1 km2. The biggest inhabited places are Jaundziras, Mazzante, Plāņi, Miezāji and Zante, which is the center of the parish.

Zante parish is rich with forests and owns the highest hill in the county of Kandava – Smiltiņu hill (155,3 meters above sea level). The biggest rivers are Amula and Vēdzele.
Points of interest: Lindes stone (44th biggest in Latvia), Dziru mills vicinity, Vanteru castle mound, Zante windmills, Plāņi manor castle “Āžmugura”, Zante manor house (the primary school of Zante), Kurland Fortress museum and Memorial for deported inhabitants of Zante county.
Culture: local parish and sports festivals are widely celebrated. Also, all the significant countrywide festivals are commemorated and celebrated.
Amateur collectives: amateur theatre, senior and young people dance groups of the Culture House, mixed choir, folklore group.
